Named this one ‘Oodles’ because it was oodles of work, multiple layers and multiple color schemes. 5x7 Alcohol ink on aluminum on canvas board. Piñata, Ranger and Brea inks. Sometimes it works out this way. I come back to a piece over and over to work on it. Some dissatisfaction that makes me want to improve it but not totally destroy all of it. When it’s ‘right’, I suddenly just ‘know.’

Evolution of Thought arrived today when my iPad was on. Alcohol ink on Yupo with Ranger and Marabu inks. I used my own blending solution. I am always amazed after finishing a project and then looking at it on video where my thought processes went because it’s almost like I’m watching another person. I definitely get in the zone every single time I start to do art. What a blessing. Sharing my Zen place with the world. Thought this would be fun. This is a new piece. It is called ‘Enhancement’ and the actual image is only 11 x 14 on aluminum vinyl and block wood. But if I enlarged it it could look like this on a wall one day. Sometimes you just need to see what the possibilities are for your art rather than looking at it in your kitchen or just in your studio. I used a wet on wet technique with alcohol inks.

This is one I created earlier this year but never posted. This is a wet on wet alcohol ink. 11x14 on Yupo paper. I love the lightness and ethereal quality of this work. It sprang to life very quickly- so the temptation is to ‘work’ harder on a piece but then you may end up destroying some magic. Alcohol Inks have a life force that moves and feels alive. Fun to watch. Like life.

‘Fire Belly’ - Alcohol ink on 5 x 7 vinyl. Experimental painting. Magenta limeade, snowcap, purple, ranger and ArtT inks. This little beauty speaks volumes from her belly bursting forth here and there throughout the “canvas”. Amazing how something so small can be so powerful.

Alcohol ink painting with new Marabu colors and some Ranger/Tim Holtz as well. These Inks are on a 11x14 black canvas board. It’s amazing to me how just utilizing new colors can change my mood when creating. New colors mix and collide with other to make more new colors! I become entranced with watching them flow and glide into each other. Newly formed colors whisper my name, and ask; “Will you come play with me today?” Yes. Yes I will.
