Alcohol Ink (originally) now only available as digital. This was part of a painting I was working on. When I realized I had to rework this section I decided to photograph it so I could salvage this one area. I just love how it looks like part of the universe. Maybe even a developing star system.

Had such a good time teaching an into to Alcohol Ink mini workshop at my local gallery this weekend. All the artists and non artists just jumped in and were so much fun and seemed to have a good time. I was thrilled with each of their results. Best compliment came from 83 year old Carole, who said she had taken lots of classes but learned a great deal in my class! Wow! I could bust!

Named this one ‘Oodles’ because it was oodles of work, multiple layers and multiple color schemes. 5x7 Alcohol ink on aluminum on canvas board. Piñata, Ranger and Brea inks. Sometimes it works out this way. I come back to a piece over and over to work on it. Some dissatisfaction that makes me want to improve it but not totally destroy all of it. When it’s ‘right’, I suddenly just ‘know.’

Evolution of Thought arrived today when my iPad was on. Alcohol ink on Yupo with Ranger and Marabu inks. I used my own blending solution. I am always amazed after finishing a project and then looking at it on video where my thought processes went because it’s almost like I’m watching another person.
